Seniors…the senior picnic will be held at Newport
Dunes on Friday, June 6th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Permission slips
are now in the Finance Office. Purchase your ticket in the Finance
Office for $25. CASH ONLY.
Seniors…for those of you that did not attend DOC last night,
you may come to the Activities Office during tutorial, break, lunch
and after school to pick up collars, cords, pins or medallions. For
individual awards or scholarships, please go to the Career Center.

Attention juniors…be a part of the graduation ceremony. We
are starting a new tradition at Huntington called the Junior Honor
Guard. Come to the Activities Office for details.
HBHS Performing Arts Department presents its annual Pops Concert
featuring the Wind and Jazz Ensembles and Drum Line today at 6 p.m.
in the HBHS Stadium. This is an outdoor “Hollywood Bowl”
style performance. Bring blankets, lawn chairs and picnic dinners.

Any senior who has completed American Sign Language Level 3 and would
like to sign at graduation, come see Mrs. Shields in room C2 ASAP.
Today from 3 p.m. to whenever is Link Crew’s bi-annual “Coffee,
Cocoa, Cookies and Cram”! We will be in the gym with teachers,
supplies and free food.
If you applied to be a 2008-2009 Link Crew Leader, the list is posted
on the hallway door of room C1. Congratulations!

Pick up your pre-sale yearbook in room B20 at tutorial, break, lunch
and at 12:15 today, tomorrow and Friday.
AP Biology 2008-2009 required student meeting on today at lunch or
Friday, June 6th at Tutorial. You must attend ONE of the meeting times,
not both.
National Honor Society 2008-2009 members only…please attend
our final meeting of the year on Friday at lunch in room J7.
Prom photos will be delivered on Thursday, June 5th at lunch by
the Student Center.
Congratulations to Tony Ciarelli for making the All County Volleyball
team! Per the Orange County Register, Tony was the most dynamic hitter
in the county and had 433 kills, 210 digs, 45 aces, 40 blocks and
a hitting percentage of .350. Tony will be attending USC in the fall
on a volleyball scholarship. Oiler Volleyball, a Winning Tradition!
Want to earn college credits right here at HBHS? See Ms. Cadigan
to sign up for Psychology or Art History. Classes begin the week of
September 16th and meet one afternoon a week.
Lockers must be cleaned out by the last day of school and left with
the locks on the locker. Missing locks will result in a fee charged
to the student assigned to the locker. Remaining contents will be
removed by Supervision and disposed of at their discretions on Tuesday,

Attention Seniors…Grad Nite tickets are on sale from 8 to 11
a.m. in front of the Financial Office during the week of June 3rd
through June 12th.
Physicals will take place on Monday, June 9th from 6-9 p.m. in the
gym for all athletes for next school year. Cost is $25. This year
EKG screening will also be available. You must pick up an EKG consent
form and EKG screening form and complete the forms prior to the physicals.
These forms are available outside the Financial Office.
All APA students…it’s your last chance to buy Academy
Awards tickets. Do your friends and family have their tickets? You
can purchase tickets at the APA Office Thursday, June 5 and Friday
June 6. Also, if you’ve pre-ordered tickets, you can pick tem
up Thursday and Friday.
APA students…are you interested in a leadership position in
the arts? If you are, pick up an application in the APA Office. APA
council is responsible for new student barbeque, Walk for the Arts,
fundraisers and Academy Awards. Come to the meeting on Monday, June
9th in P6 to join this wonderful group. Hope to see you there!
Need an elective credit? Take Entertainment Art with Mr. Harward
this summer. Monday through Thursday, 1-4:30 p.m. Friday, Saturday
and Sunday off. Cool huh? Remember Entertainment Art!
Attention all sophomores, juniors and seniors…for the 11th
consecutive year, Mr. Ostrowski will be offering a College level Astronomy
class. This class will run from June 23rd through July 11th every
afternoon in room D27. Registration forms are available in Mr. O's
room. Make sure that you take advantage of this great opportunity
to earn 3 units of UC transferable credit in just three weeks. (End

Don’t forget to attend the 12-Step Recovery information meeting
on Thursday evenings from 6-7 p.m. in the Library and ear 2 hours
credit toward detention.
Attention all you gnarly kids out there…for the first time
ever HBHS will be a part of Hurley’s Walk the Walk fashion show.
The show will be at Irvine Spectrum at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 6th.
Watch our school compete against Edison and all the other schools
out there.
Give a shout out to the HBHS Animal Shelter Services Club who has
put in 630 hours of community service through voluntary aid at the
Orange County Humane Society this school year. In addition, they have
raised $3000 for the Humane Society. Many thanks to HBHS Animal Shelter
Services Club’s most devoted members…Chris Halamandaris,
Oscar Alvarado, Jeff Wong, Rachel Drisdelle, Emily Flack, Gerica Groh,
Cherie Jackson, Katherina Kaliszewska, Hanna Lindstrom, Corynne McMullin,
Rebecca Reinhardt, Natalee Megee, Rebecca Pury, Diana Le, Patty Kim,
Rudy Weber and Tiffany Zamora. Animal Shelter Services Club will not
meet anymore this year, but will begin meetings again the 2nd Thursday
